With Tara Giroud
Have you heard that journaling is good for your mental health, but you don’t know how to begin? Do the many journaling options seem overwhelming? Does your inner critic make you wonder if you should even bother?
Let’s take the mystery out of journaling together. Join Tara Giroud, a journalist, creative writer, life-long (mostly) journal keeper and mental health advocate, who will share the connections she uncovered between her professional life as a journalist and her personal mental health journey through writing.
Journalistic principles, such as neutrality, skepticism, curiosity, silence, and observation, can be powerful tools for delving into our personal stories—tools that can help us release stress, bring more kindness and compassion into our lives, and sort through difficult thoughts and emotions.
Through various writing exercises in this workshop, you’ll:
- Sample different forms of journaling practices
- Create a plan to begin or enhance a writing practice that fits your life
- Get started exploring your life’s stories through journalistic principles
So, bring your notebook and your curiosity, and let’s get started together to become the journalist of your own life’s stories.
